We are The Boulevard Blues Band from St.Charles, Missouri.
We conspire for a unique sound.
Take a little Samantha Fish, sprinkle in a portion of Tedeschi Trucks, and add a pinch of Beth Hart. Adding in some of our own tunes for additional flavor, there you have it; the Boulevard Blues Band sound.
We are a derivative of your basic blues sound, but we keep it up-to-date and cover as much of the current blues artists as we can.
We are a diverse group covering a broad age range.
Becca Schaaf, singer and pianist, has been surrounded by music all her life. Her professional knowledge allows her to sing a vast array of styles, and she loves to instill this passion for all things music in her students. She performs anything from opera to Led Zeppelin all around the city, but loves to play with her friends the most.
Steve Walker on bass guitar has been in and out of bands since 1976. Most notably he played in Country Rock and Bluegrass bands back in the late 70’s. Steve plays a Fender Jazz Bass through a Fender Amp.
Mike Scott, guitar player extraordinaire, has been playing guitar for 35 years heavy metal to classical and all points in between. Playing in Boulevard band allows him to fully utilize his improvisational skills. Mike plays Fender Telecasters with almost no effects for that raw, natural guitar sound
Bob Steffes has been playing percussion since high school. Using a Ludwig Vistalite set, he was in bands playing country, classic rock, rockabilly and blues. Before joining Boulevard he switched to a Toca djembe and cajon in the band 2 Car Pile Up.
